Wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed — this is the living jungle, not a zoo. Some days the reserve shows you everything; some days it keeps its secrets.

About Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve
Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve is a protected area in the north-east of Ecuador, deep in the Amazon. Established in 1979, it covers about 6000 square kilometers of pristine Amazonian rainforest — one of the most biologically rich areas on Earth, with approximately 3000–4000 identified plant species, 165 species of mammals including the legendary pink river dolphin, 500 species of birds and 5 indigenous nationalities living in 7 communities.
Cuyabeno Dolphin Eco-Lodge sits in the heart of this primary jungle, 2 hours by motorized canoe from the Cuyabeno Bridge, right in front of the natural pool of the pink dolphins — that is why it is called Dolphin Lodge, a privileged place.
